An episode of “Reading Rainbow” where Loni Ackerman describes how she puts on her make-up and there are random scenes from CATS. It’s fun/bizarre!!!

  2. I’ve watched this several times on youtube, it rocks. But the only thing I don’t like about it is that when she’s putting on her wig, the only thing I can think of is, “Oh, god! It’s the 80s!” Sometimes a show is dated, even when it’s about cats.

  3. That was sort of scarey. And was that Levar Burton stroking a pussy at the start?

  4. My god, this video is SO gloriously kitsch/camp. I’m still trying to understand what the deal was with that crazy presenter stroking a cat at the start?

  6. So all the performers in Cats were responsible for their own makeup? That explains why when I saw the show in London in 1986 that many of the cats had just white makeup and whiskers - lazy good for nothing Brits!

  8. Know what’s sad? I actually remember this! Yes, I’m a child of the 80s who was forced to watch every episode of Reading Rainbow in school…”Take a look, it’s in a book. Reading Rainbow!!”

Oh - and Seth - I spent like 2 hours last night watching all your youtube videos thanks to someone’s link on broadwayworld.com!
