This is the concert I got to conduct when the big Broadway strike was over in December 2007. The two things to watch are:
the terrifying moment I had when Bernadette was supposed to sing ”There…was….NO business, like no business”. I had the orchestra holding and was ready to begin tempo on the word NO, but Bernadette forgot (!) and just sang “There’s NO business…” and my hands were in a “Hold” position to the orchestra and it was a Depends-filling experience. Then, watch Jonathan Groff after he sing “T’were no business in restaurants…”. I made him change it to “t’were” because it was one syllable (even though it made no sense) and right after he sang it, I started laughing and he saw me in the pit and started laughing.
