		<description>There's a great youtube clip right now on parterre.com in which famous old operatic mezzos debate the use of the chest voice in their respective singing - or deny that these huge, honking sounds are actually "chest" sounds.  I think that people forget that both are vital to effective singing.  Who wants to hear some soprano whose voice evaporates as the line descends?</description>

I'm just listening to the London cast recording of ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, and at the end of "Mama Will Provide" the singer, who has been belting the entire song, ends up going into head voice for the final F and Ab. It was one of the major let downs of my day.</description>
